Freshly made bread, still warm from the oven is one of life’s little luxuries, but in an industry where speed of service is as important as the quality of final dish, many chefs are finding themselves under increasing pressure to deliver exceptional plates in the shortest possible time, meaning freshly baked bread is often overlooked. The compact, countertop rounder and moulder, have been designed to complement the company’s existing range of professional grade bakery equipment, and make light work of delicious bread and dough products. Combining much of Somerset’s 70 year heritage, the newly launched appliances deliver remarkable consistency and achieve measureable cost and labour savings.

The Somerset SDR-400 Dough Rounder is design to produce uniform dough balls, perfectly round pizza bases, identical bread rolls or a number of other items including tortillas, roti, pita bread or chipote. An extremely high production of up to 7,200 pieces per hour and the ability to round dough from 50g to 1kg in a continuous, one person operated flow, means the rounder is extremely simple to use. An innovative automatic adjustment allows the chef to place the dough in the patented stick-resistant intake before the machine intuitively adjusts to the correct size to produce the identical, airtight dough balls of matching size and shape.

For those looking for a unit capable of producing delicious bread based products, the new Somerset CDR-170 provides the ideal solution. With an interchangeable 6” – 15” pressure plate, the moulder is capable of producing perfectly uniform dough for speciality breads, hot dog buns, sub rolls, breadsticks, pretzels and baguettes. Able to make up to 1,800 pieces per hour, the high volume moulder uses easy to adjust synthetic rollers and features an ergonomic design which makes it simple to operate and quick to clean.
